ARLINGTON ALLIANCE 4 YOUTH
This link to the Arlington Alliance for Youth is a major new link. Through the KIWANIS club, I was asked to service as a DIRECTOR for the Arlington Alliance 4 Youth. I said "Yes". My link: http://mikeleathers.com/new_page_4.htm .
This started a major adventure in my life (my fifth career - Volunteering).

Jim Walther, Chairman of the Alliance, has given me all sorts of opportunities to help. One opportunity was to chair our WEB ADVISORY COMMITTEE. The above picture has become our web site logo, and for that matter, the logo for most of our publications.
Our web site underwent major revisions and changes. The task of the WEB ADVISORY COMMITTEE was to provide content for the various parts of the web site and provide updates, etc.
National & Global Youth Services Day was an added page for our facilitation of the City of Arlington, Texas's first participation in YOUTH SERVICE DAY. This link provided information on YOUTH SERVICE DAY and registration forms. On the form was organization and project information, as well as a place to nominate a YOUTH SERVICE LEADER.
Facilitating the first Arlington's YOUTH SERVICE DAY became a major effort. Our intent was to have the projects in the morning, and then lunch and a celebration of youths service contribution to Arlington, Texas. Organizations & groups were contacted who where potential participants. Then we decided to have a major Youth Service Leader Award.

Sheris Growe was a major coordinator for Youth Service Day planning. She passed away during our planning phase. It was decided that our YOUTH SERVICE LEADER of the YEAR award would be names in her honor (see above).
